Read moreAfter graduating from The University of Auckland in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours in Māori Studies) and a Bachelor of Laws, Ihipera was admitted as a Barrister & Solicitor in 2010. Ihipera has a wide range of experience advising clients on Māori legal issues, commercial law, property conveyancing, trusts, wills and estates. Ihipera has appeared in the Waitangi Tribunal, Māori Land Court, District Court, High Court and Court of Appeal. Ihipera works closely with clients to provide practical, solutions-focused advice in a manner that empowers clients to make an informed decision within the law. Ihipera is a former Female Co-President of Te Rākau Ture (Māori Law Students Association at The University of Auckland) and before commencing her legal career, was the Pouāwhina Māori (Māori Law Student Advisor) in the Faculty of Law. She is a member of Te Hunga Rōia Māori o Aotearoa (The Māori Law Society) and the Pacific Lawyers Association. Ihipera is fluent in Te Reo Māori and Samoan and is passionate about the normalisation of Te Reo Māori in the legal landscape of Aotearoa. Outside of the office, Ihipera and her husband Carl are kept busy with their four children and they enjoy the outdoors, especially the ocean and rivers, as much as possible.
